Qualifications:

An engineering related education to diploma level is the minimum requirement or a minimum of 2 years practical experience.

Purpose of the job:

Will work in a multicultural team of Technicians within the Electrical Maintenance Department, and will carry out fault investigations, defect and preventative maintenance, together with modifications on a range of plant. The SR. Electrical Technician reports to the Electrical Engineer. He receives work assignments, briefing and guidance from senior members of the section and other engineering personnel, and plans and arranges the manpower and material requirements for any allocated work. The position holder should have a detailed understanding and practical experience of the maintenance of modern combined cycle gas turbine plant, desalination plant and a wide range of auxiliary equipment.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Implemention of maintenance practices in accordance with OEM and international standards.
  • Completing the planned shutdowns within time.
  • Assisting others to make decisions, to resolve plant maintenance problems with immediate, medium and long term consequences.
  • Deliver outcomes, in all areas of work, consistent with the Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental policies.
  • Ensure Company Health, Safety, and Environmental policies and procedures are followed.
  • Support an environment and mechanism where communication and cooperation between the Maintenance and Operation teams, as well as with Admin Staff, is at an excellent level.

  • Good command of the English language.

Purpose of the job:

To act as a key focal point of the HSE Department and assist in the continual development of the companies safety culture by coaching and giving value added knowledge, understanding and leadership on HSE related matters.

Qualifications:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or International General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety.
  • Engineering or Process Related Technical Qualification

Key Accountabilities:

  • Drive the continuing development of the company HSE culture, working closely with and effectively influencing members of staff and sub contract personnel relating to safe working behaviors using coaching methods.
  • Coordinating and providing technical assistance to functional leads (e.g., operations, maintenance and administration staff) regarding compliance with company HSE requirements where necessary.
  • Participating in meetings with staff and sub contract personnel and act as the focal point for HSE related items.
  • Working with departmental personnel to develop quality risk assessments, JHA’s, COSHH Assessments and participate in outage risk reviews.
  • Assist the HSE department to gather statistical data from the site observation program and ensure close out of items with relevant departments
  • Provide Health, Safety and Environmental induction & awareness training to site personnel and sub contractors.
